We’re nearer to the end of the month of July than the first, now. Judy and I have just returned from ten days with Nova Voce, singing our way through the mid-Atlantic United States. Temperatures were warm and humid, but the folks we met were great.

We experienced a “cuh-vud dish sup-pah” in Virginia, met relatives of friends and made new friends, learned that watermelon should be salted before being eaten, had the best fried chicken in the world (“made at the garage down the street”) and sang in the morning service at Ocran’s United Methodist church, where Pastor Larry even worked me into the sermon. That’ll teach me not to tell personal stories without looking to see if the pastor is standing behind me…

We had a great trip. It’s nice to know that even when we’re thousands of miles from home we’ve still got ‘family’ in the churches we visited!
