As you might have guessed from the title, the inspiration for this song came from the last book in the New Testament.  You know, the one everybody seems to have a different opinion about. It tells about the anti-Christ. It speaks about the Battle of Armageddon and the four horsemen of the apocalypse. You don’t have to be a Christian, or even a church-goer to recognize references from the Book of Revelation. There’s been a myriad of books and even movies by both Christian and secular authors and producers.  The last book in the Bible has fascinated readers and theologians for centuries. 

Pre-millenialism,  post millennialism. Is the book literal or symbolic? Was the book set in the time of the author, John, or set in the future?  Like any good preacher’s kid, I have my opinions, but I decided a long time ago that those things weren’t that important.  I think the point of Revelation is to let you know what lies ahead for everyone.  Now, I’m not a theologian, or an apologist. Or even an evangelist.  I write and sing songs. I like to think my songs tell stories that will make people think.  Or comfort them.  Or, sometimes, even challenge them.  Revelation is one of the story songs.  There’s no chorus.  The story is about is a dream I had once a long time ago.  It kind of took the idea of the Judgement Seat; separating the sheep from the goats and the wheat from the chaff and brought it into our century with electronics, jumbotrons and television.  So this is the story of my dream….
